Threads, the new application from Meta, the company that owns Instagram and Facebook, now available in Chile. The new one social network seeks to compete with Twitter, and is now available for download in over 100 countries.

Following the announcement by Elon Musk, Twitter's main shareholder, in which he reported an unusual reading limit for users, added to the new charges   the Twitter Blue subscriptionMany internet users reacted angrily to the decisions made by the social network.

Faced with this, Mark Zuckerberg's company took the opportunity to launch its new Threads app (threads in English), where you can create short texts and follow the same Instagram accounts.

How do I install Threads on my phone?

Threads, Meta's new app, will allow Instagram users to import their profiles and data to this new social network, making it easier for people to use.

It also allows you to set your account to private or public, and keep the same nickname, description, and user photo, or create a new one.

To download it, follow these steps:

Download Threads on Android

  • Login to Play Store On your cellphone.
  • Search “Threads, an Instagram app”.
  • Download the social network.
  • Once downloaded, enter the app, where the button will appear to Log In with your Instagram account, if you already have one in the smartphone, will be linked automatically.
  • After this, the new social network will ask you if you want to follow the same people as on Instagram.

Download Threads on iOS

To download the new social network, you need iOS 14 or higher. It won't be possible to install it below this version.

  • Login to App Store on your iPhone.
  • Search “Threads, an Instagram app”.
  • Download the social network.
  • Once downloaded, enter the app, where the button will appear to Log In with your Instagram account, if you already have one, the apps will be automatically linked.
  • After this, the new social network will ask you if you want to follow the same people as on Instagram.
