Microsoft combines Microsoft To Do, Planner and Project into a new Microsoft Planner in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft has announced a major update to its task management tools in Microsoft Teams. The company is merging Microsoft To Do, Planner and Project into a new application called Microsoft Planner, which will offer a unified and integrated experience for managing personal, team and organizational tasks.

Microsoft Planner will replace the existing Planner and Tasks apps in Teams and will also be available as a standalone app for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. Users will be able to access all their Microsoft To Do, Planner, and Project tasks in one place, and easily switch between different views, such as list, board, timeline, and calendar.
Microsoft Planner will also introduce new features such as smart suggestions, subtasks, dependencies, milestones, priority levels, tags, and reminders. Users will be able to create and assign tasks to themselves or others, track progress and status, collaborate with teammates, attach files and comments, and integrate with other Microsoft 365 apps such as Outlook, OneNote, and Power BI.
Microsoft Planner is designed to help users accomplish more with less stress and complexity. Whether it's a simple to-do list, a complex project plan, or anything else, Microsoft Planner will help users stay organized, focused, and productive.
Microsoft Planner will begin rolling out to Microsoft Teams users in the coming weeks and will be available to all Microsoft 365 customers by the end of the year. To learn more about Microsoft Planner, visit the official website or watch the video below.
Microsoft unveiled its new vision for planning tools at the Microsoft Ignite 2023 event. The company aims to create a "unified experience" that will integrate Microsoft To Do, Microsoft Planner, and Microsoft Project for the web into a single platform at the same time. which will be accessible from Microsoft Teams starting in spring 2024, and from the web later in 2024. The name of this platform will be "Microsoft Planner."
The current Tasks by Planner and To Do app in Microsoft Teams will be renamed Planner immediately, according to the company's announcement. However, Microsoft Project for the web will undergo a name change in the coming months.
As expected from a modern Microsoft service, Planner will also feature an AI co-pilot that will help users plan faster and smarter, as well as suggest new tasks. This seems like a great feature for anyone who loves planning.
