Microsoft has not yet officially confirmed that it is working on Windows 12, but some testers claim that they already have access to an older version of the new operating system. According to a report from Windows Central, some members of the Windows Insider program have received build number 22000, which is said to be part of Windows 12.
According to testers, Windows 12 should have a completely revised user interface that is very different from Windows 10 and Windows 11. The new interface is said to be flatter, more modern and minimalist, with rounded corners, transparent effects and new icons. Windows 12 is also said to offer some new features, such as an improved file explorer, a new Chromium-based Edge browser, and a built-in Linux kernel.
Testers have posted some Windows 12 screenshots, but they cannot be verified. It is possible that it is a fake or modified version of Windows 11. Microsoft has not yet commented on the rumors. It is also unclear when Windows 12 will be released and whether it will be a free upgrade for existing Windows users.
Windows 12 is an interesting topic for many Windows fans who want more innovation and performance from Microsoft. However, reports about the first version of the next generation of Windows should be viewed with caution until there is an official announcement.
I made an interesting discovery that I would like to share with you. This is a new Windows build number that I found on an internal Microsoft website. The build number is 27547, which is much higher than the current build numbers of the three usual channels for Windows: Beta, Dev, and Canary. These channels are accessible to registered Insider testers and contain different versions of Windows with different levels of development and stability.
The latest beta build is 22635.3130, the latest development build is 23620, and the most recently released canary build has build number 26040. Canary builds are the most experimental and contain the latest features and changes that have not yet been properly tested. Therefore, they are also the most susceptible to errors and problems.
Since 27547 is significantly higher than the latest version of Canary, it could be a completely new version of Windows that is not yet intended for the public. Maybe it's even the first build number of Windows 12, as the discoverer with the X/Twitter pseudonym “Xeno” suspects.

There's been a build jump for the inner canary!
