Create USB or DVD for your installation

One of the things you can do to install it on your computer is create a usb or a dvd. Therefore, we are going to tell you which steps you must follow to create the file that you will use when installing the operating system on your PC in this way.

It is possible to use different installation media, such as a USB stick or a DVD. From them, we can do a clean installation of the system or a reinstallation of it.

For this, we are going to need:

• A computer with stable internet connection.
• A unit flash USB or  DVD.
• An product key, although it is not required for digital licenses.

In the case of that we want to use a USB memory, we must have a unit that has at least 8 GB of available space. If, on the other hand, what we want to do is create an installation DVD, then we need an empty disc and a DVD burner on the computer.

How to install Windows 10 step by step

Regardless of whether we install from the Windows 10 DVD itself or from a medium created by ourselves, once the installation wizard starts, these are each and every one of the steps to follow:

The only thing we must take into account is that it offers some limitations when buying OEM or Retail licenses and that the maximum RAM memory is 4G in 32-bit and 128 GB in 64-bit.

It includes everything in the Home edition, but allows you to buy volume licenses and the maximum RAM for 64-bit is 512 GB. At first, we will have to choose our region, in this case Spain. Next, we will be asked to choose the appropriate keyboard layout and once this is done, we will have to enter our email, phone or Skype account to sign in with Microsoft, as well as the access password.

In the next step, the configuration wizard will give us the option to create a PIN, which will allow us to log in quickly and securely. If we want to create it, just click on the Create PIN button and set the code we want.

Upgrade from Windows XP, 7, or 8.1

If we are users of Windows 7 or 8.1, we still have time to update with the latest version of the system without having to install Windows 10 from scratch. On this occasion, we are going to have to use the tool again Media Creation Tool which we have already mentioned above. The first thing is to know if the hardware that our PC has is compatible with the version to which we want to update.

Possibly we have had the equipment for quite some time, so it is likely that we do not know exactly what hardware it has. If so, we can run the command dxDiag from the Windows Run window and the system itself will show us the details of the hardware that we have installed. Now, we just have to check if they meet the minimum requirements that Microsoft requests to install these newer versions of the system.

If we are lucky and we meet the minimum hardware requirements, the next thing to do is to perform a backup of all data saved on the computer, something that today it is possible to do in the update process, but in XP before it was not possible. To make a backup copy of our data, it is recommended, first of all, to delete all junk files or applications that we did not previously use.
